Call for Speakers
We are now accepting proposals from speakers. In an effort to provide our participants with the most useful training and information, we will not consider proposals with a commercial or product-oriented focus.
Create & Re-Create, Making the Possible Practical
Professionals who use, plan and design the educational environment must create a new mental model while understanding the intent is to re-create that mental model. This necessity applies to the educational programs and the delivery systems as well as the physical environment's ability to support the re-created mental model.

It is the purpose of this conference to:
- Explore the variety of educational processes that may be applied to the curriculum delivery methods.
- Understand possible solution in addressing contemporary educational issues and their relationship to future issues.
- Practically investigate the impact the learning environment has on the educational process.
Language used by educators, planners and designers should clarify common goals aimed at creating rich, diverse and supportive teaching environments. Each of the following categories and the supportive threads are designed to bring professionals to a common understanding of what is possible can become practical.
- Small functioning schools – Small learning communities within a larger context.
Thread – Impact of architecture in constructively or negatively affecting an individual's ability to learn. How does the three-dimensional environment students and educators experience aid in creating memory and recall? (School organization model important here)
Thread – Is the incorporation of private school concepts and models worth investigating and integrating into the public school setting.
- Providing large school facilities for smaller learning communities.
Thread – Explore the vital influence that partnering with community, business and educational sector has on the survival of a successful community.
Thread – Look at the importance of Alternative learning environments as they address the public schools responsibility to educate all children.
- How can school districts accomplish new things in new ways with new technologies?
Thread – Engaging a student's curiosity and initiating learning of subject matter, problem based learning prepares students to think critically and analytically, and to find and use appropriate learning resources. How does a facility support and promote these learning activities.
Thread – World-wide developments affecting job expectations, health, physical security, public policy, communications, investment opportunities, and immigration and community relations, are changing the context of our lives. How are "Global Issues" reflected in the planning and design of educational facilities?
Submission Guidelines:
Each session should be 1 hour in length, with 15 minutes allowed at end of presentation for questions. CEFPI members are encouraged to participate by posting presentation to the CEFPI speaker database, http://speakers.cefpi.org. Please include the following information:
- Title of Presentation
- Abstract (Approximately 400 words)
- Name of Presenter(s)
- Bio for each presenter
- Session Objectives
